Michael Ranieri, M.Sc.

Position: Laboratory Technician

About:  Michael received his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from McMaster University in 2018, where he studied Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms and how this bacteria forms biofilm in response to sub-MIC antibiotics. He has worked in the cannabis industry as a Research Scientist, where he helped with product and process development, as well as in the pharmaceutical industry as a microbiologist. His main research interests include natural product and drug discovery, and his work in the Brown lab involves working with fungi to produce and isolate novel natural products. When not in the lab, Michael enjoys cooking, brewing, running, music, and enjoying the outdoors.
